Questions
The questions people actually ask
Including the awkward ones. If the answer you need is not here, ask us — we would rather tell you now than on a demo call.
Getting the measure of it
What is Rocket ERP, in one paragraph?
One system covering sales, purchasing, stock, accounting, CRM, HR and payroll, with Egyptian and Saudi e-invoicing built in. It runs in your browser, with a separate database per customer, and works in Arabic and English throughout — including printed documents.
What size of business is this for?
Businesses with somewhere between five and a few hundred people, where more than one person needs the same numbers and a spreadsheet has started to disagree with itself.
It grows with you. Each plan sets the users, branches and warehouses you get, so you start at the size you are today and move up a plan as you add people and locations.
Is it cloud or installed on our server?
Cloud, on a subdomain of your choosing, with a separate database for your company. An on-premise arrangement is possible on the Custom plan; it is a conversation rather than a checkbox.
What happens if our internet goes down?
Your data stays safe in the cloud, and the work most exposed to a weak connection is built to carry on.
The mobile apps queue a punch or a field visit taken with no signal and sync it later, recorded at the time it was taken rather than the time it arrived. And e-invoicing separates signing from submission, so an outage at the tax authority queues documents instead of stopping a till.
The web application runs in the browser over your internet connection, so a backup line or a mobile hotspot keeps desk work moving through an outage.
The free trial
How long is the free trial, and what is in it?
A full workspace with the plan you choose, for the trial period shown on the pricing page. No card is required to start, and nothing is charged unless you decide to continue.
If we subscribe, do we keep what we entered during the trial?
Yes. It is the same workspace — subscribing does not reset anything. That is deliberate: a trial you have to redo is a trial nobody takes seriously.
Will someone help us set it up during the trial?
Yes, and it is the fastest way to know whether the system fits. Tell us what you sell and how you are organised, and we will set up the chart of accounts, the branches and the price lists with you rather than leaving you to guess.
Pricing
How is it priced?
Per workspace, by plan, monthly or annually. The plan sets how many users, branches and warehouses you get and which modules are switched on. Every plan includes the accounting core — what changes is scale and the specialist modules.
Do we pay per user?
No. Each plan includes a number of users, and you pay for the plan rather than per seat. If you outgrow the count, you move up a plan — which is usually cheaper than per-seat pricing at the point where it matters.
Is annual payment cheaper?
Yes, and the saving shown on the pricing page is calculated from the two prices actually configured rather than written into the copy — so it cannot drift away from what you are charged.
Can the price change after we sign up?
Not within a paid period. A change at renewal is announced before it takes effect, and an annual subscription holds its price for the full year.
Billing and payment
How do we pay?
Bank transfer or card, against a tax invoice issued to your company with your tax registration number on it. Talk to us if you need a particular payment process or a purchase-order reference on the invoice.
Can we change plan later?
Yes, in both directions. Moving up takes effect immediately. Moving down takes effect at the next renewal, because the lower plan may allow fewer branches or users than you are currently using.
What happens if we cancel?
Your workspace stays available until the end of the period you have paid for. Before it closes, export what you need — the export is available throughout and is not something you have to ask for.
Ask us for an export before you sign up, not after. A system that cannot hand your data back is a system you cannot leave, and that is worth checking while you still have a choice.
Getting started
How long does setup take?
A working setup takes days rather than months: a chart of accounts, your items, your customers and suppliers, opening balances, and the people who will use it.
What takes longer is the part nobody quotes for — agreeing what a number means. If two people currently calculate margin differently, the system will force that conversation. Having it early is cheaper than having it in month three.
Can we bring our existing data in?
Yes. Items, customers, suppliers, opening balances and stock quantities import from spreadsheets, and the importer reports per-row reasons rather than a count of failures — so you fix the four rows that are wrong instead of hunting through four hundred.
Historic transactions are a different question. Most businesses bring in balances as at a cutover date and leave the detail in the old system, because reconstructing three years of journals is expensive and rarely gets used.
How do our people learn it?
Sessions by role rather than one long tour: the person issuing invoices does not need the payroll screens. There is also a bilingual knowledge base, and in-app help panels on the screens where the rules are genuinely intricate, such as payroll.
Do we need a developer to configure it?
No. Price lists, approval chains, custom fields on customers and leads, permission groups, report layouts and the chart of accounts are all screens. A developer is needed for an integration with another system, not for configuration.
The modules
Can we switch on only the modules we need?
Yes, and the ones you do not use stay out of the menu rather than sitting there greyed out. Accounting is always on, because every other module posts to it.
Can we run more than one branch or warehouse?
Yes, from the Professional plan. Each branch has its own cash boxes and linked accounts, stock moves between warehouses with a real journal behind it, and a user can be limited to the branch they work in.
Is the manufacturing module real, or a label on inventory?
Real: bills of materials with yield, routings, production plans that release into work orders, issuance capped at what remains planned, leftover work-in-progress returned on completion, and labour folded into the product cost rather than booked away as overhead.
Is there a point of sale?
Yes — a cashier register with product tiles and a numpad, and a sales history. It posts to the same ledger as everything else, so the till and the accounts cannot disagree.
The register is built for fast cash sales at the counter. A credit sale with payment terms goes through a sales invoice, which posts to the same ledger and appears on the same customer statement.
Are there mobile apps?
Three: a field-sales and CRM app, an employee self-service app for attendance, leave and payslips, and an owner dashboard. They are native apps rather than the website in a frame.
Tax and compliance
Do you handle e-invoicing?
Yes, for Egypt (ETA) and Saudi Arabia (ZATCA Phase 2), from one set of screens.
The part worth asking about is what happens when the authority is unreachable. Signing and numbering are local and ordered; submission is separate and networked. So an outage queues documents instead of stopping a till, and a rejected document never consumes a number from your sequence.
Does it handle VAT correctly?
Yes, with per-line tax amounts and taxable amounts rather than a tax total bolted on at the end, which is what the authorities require.
One setting is worth knowing about: a whole-invoice discount can be applied before or after tax. Applied after, it does not reduce the taxable base — which overstates VAT and is incompatible with ZATCA. New workspaces on the Saudi regime are set to pre-tax for that reason.
Can an auditor see who changed what?
Yes, from the Professional plan: an audit trail on every change, with the user, the time, and the before and after values. A posted document is corrected with a correcting entry rather than edited in place, which is the distinction an auditor is actually asking about.
Security
Is our data separate from other customers?
Yes — a separate database per customer, not a shared table with a company column. That is a structural separation rather than a filter somebody has to remember to apply.
How fine-grained are the permissions?
Per screen and per action — view, add, edit, delete — grouped into roles you define, with branch scoping on top. A user can be limited to their own records where that makes sense, such as a sales rep seeing their own customers.
Who can see our passwords?
Nobody, including us. Signing up does not ask for a password at all — one is generated and you set your own through a single-use link.
How often is it backed up?
Daily, on every plan. Ask us about restore testing if that matters to you — a backup nobody has restored from is a hope rather than a backup, and it is a fair question to ask of any vendor.
Your data
Can we get our data out?
Yes, at any time and without asking. Every list exports, and a full database export is available on request. Ask for one during the trial: it is the cheapest way to find out whether you could ever leave.
Where is our data stored?
In the cloud, in a database that belongs to your company alone, backed up daily. If your sector or your procurement policy sets a data-residency requirement, tell us where the data must be held. The Custom plan also covers installing the system on your own server.
Does it really work in Arabic?
Yes, and the test is not the menus — it is a printed invoice, a customer statement, and a report containing a long Arabic name next to a number.
Arabic is the default language, not a translation layer added afterwards. PDFs are generated with a font that shapes Arabic correctly, and numbers and document codes stay left-to-right inside right-to-left text, which is where most systems break.
Integrations
Is there an API?
Yes, on the Enterprise and Custom plans. The whole product is built on it — the web application and all three mobile apps are clients of the same API, so there is no second-class path for integrations.
Can it talk to the systems we already have?
Yes: through the REST API on the Enterprise and Custom plans, and through spreadsheet imports and exports. Tell us which system and what has to flow in which direction, and we will tell you whether it is configuration or a project we quote for you.
Can we get data out into Excel?
Every list exports to Excel, CSV or PDF, and the reports export with their filters applied rather than as the unfiltered table. Nobody should have to retype a figure that is already on screen.
Support
What support do we get?
Email support on every plan, priority support from Enterprise, and a named contact on Custom. The bilingual Help Center is open to everyone and does not require a ticket.
Will you build something specific for us?
Yes, in the form that serves you best. A need that is genuinely general — a field, a rule, a report — becomes configuration in the product, so it stays supported through every update.
A need that is specific to your business is quoted as a project, with the scope agreed before work starts.
How do updates work?
We deploy them; you do not install anything. Changes that affect how a screen is used are announced rather than discovered, and nothing that alters an accounting rule ships without being described first.
Still deciding?
Tell us what you do and what is going wrong now. If this is not the right system for you, we will say so.
