The HR dashboard is the daily starting point for an HR officer. It answers the questions you ask every morning: how many people work here, who joined recently, which leave requests are waiting, which positions are open and how attendance is going this month. Every figure is calculated live from the records in the system when you open the page.
Open the dashboard
Open People › Overview › Dashboard.
The page title reads HR Dashboard with the subtitle Key HR metrics at a glance.
If nothing has been recorded yet, the page shows No HR dashboard data available. Add your departments, job titles and employees first, and the dashboard fills in by itself.
What each block shows
Block | How the figure is worked out |
|---|---|
Total employees | Every employee record in your branch, whatever its status. |
Active employees | Employees whose status is Active. |
Pending leave requests | Leave requests still waiting for a decision. |
Open positions | The number of vacancies on published job postings whose application deadline has not passed (or that have no deadline). |
Recent hires | Active employees who joined in the last 30 days, with their department, job title and joining date. |
Upcoming reviews | Performance reviews that are not finished and fall due in the next 90 days, plus appraisal cycles in draft or active status that have not ended. |
Employees per department | Active employees counted by department. Departments with no active employees are left out. |
Attendance this month | For each day of the current month up to today: how many employees were present (present, late or half-day), and how many active employees had no attendance record. |
Each list shows how many items it holds next to its title. A list with no rows shows No records. A block that cannot be loaded shows This section is unavailable. while the rest of the dashboard keeps working.
Reading the attendance chart
The absent figure is the number of active employees minus the number who clocked in that day. It counts weekends and public holidays as absence, because the chart does not know your working calendar. Use it to spot unusual days, and use attendance management for the official record.
Where to act
The dashboard is read-only. To act on what you see:
Decide on pending leave in leave requests.
Complete a new hire's record in employee management.
For cost, turnover and burnout analysis, open the HR BI analytics dashboard.
Common questions
Why is "Total employees" higher than "Active employees"? The total also counts inactive, resigned and terminated employees, who stay on file to keep their payroll and attendance history.
Why does a new employee not appear under recent hires? Only active employees with a joining date in the last 30 days are listed. Check the joining date and status on the employee record.
