My Team is the manager's part of the self-service portal. It lists the people who report to you and lets you decide their leave without opening the full HR screens. Your team is defined by the reporting line: every employee whose record names you as their manager.
Before you start
Your user account must be linked to your employee record, and each team member's record must name you as their manager.
Access to My Team is a separate permission and is not granted to any user group by default. Ask your administrator to grant it to the managers' group.
Open your team
Open People › My Team. The portal opens on the My team page with your direct reports.
Each card shows the employee's name, job title, department, email and employment status. Switch on Include indirect reports to add the people who report to your reports, and so on down your branch of the organisation. The Approvals and Calendar links at the top open the other two team pages.
Decide leave requests
Open Approvals to see Team approvals. The list shows pending requests by default; change the status filter to see decided ones.
Leave requests carry Approve and Reject buttons. Approving asks you to confirm, because the days are deducted from the employee's leave balance.
Rejecting opens Reject request, where you enter a Reason (shown to the employee). The employee sees it on their own request list.
Loans and expense claims of your team also appear here so you have the whole picture. They are decided on their own screens, by the people holding those approval rights.
The system checks every decision against your reporting line, direct and indirect. Holding the leave-approval permission is not enough to decide a request from someone outside your team.
Check the team calendar
Open Calendar to see Team calendar for the current month, and use the arrows to move between months.
It shows approved and pending leave across your team. A leave that started last month and runs into this one is included.
Look here before approving a new request, to make sure the team still has cover on those days.
Common questions
Why is my team empty? No employee record names you as their manager, or your user account is not linked to your own employee record.
Can I approve my own leave here? No. Your own requests go to your manager.
Where do I find my own payslips and leave? In the same portal. Use the other tabs, or see employee self-service.
