Depreciation Reports gathers four asset reports behind one menu entry. A selector in the top bar, next to the export buttons, switches between them. Each view keeps its own filters.
Steps
Open Reports & Analytics › Accounting Reports › Depreciation Reports. The Depreciation register opens first.
Use the selector in the top bar to switch to Valuation by category, Depreciation expense or Depreciation schedule.
Set the filters of that view and select Apply.
Depreciation register
Every asset in use on the As of date (empty means today), with Code, Asset, Category, Purchase Date, Cost, Accum. Depreciation, Net Book Value and Status. Filter by Branch ID, and by Status to see only Active or Disposed assets. Totals and tiles show the cost, accumulated depreciation and net book value of the list. Select a row to open the asset.
Accumulated depreciation is calculated with each asset's own method, useful life and salvage value, from its depreciation start date to the as-of date.
Valuation by category
The same figures grouped by asset category, for active assets only: Total Cost, Accum. Depreciation and Net Book Value per category. Use it to check the fixed-asset lines of the balance sheet.
Depreciation expense
The depreciation of each active asset over the period in From and To: Monthly Depreciation, Months, Depreciation, and the expense account (Account Code, Account). The tile shows Total Depreciation.
Depreciation schedule
The year-by-year plan for one asset. Choose the asset in Asset; until you do, the screen shows Select an asset to view its schedule. Each row shows the Year, Beginning Balance, Depreciation, Accum. Depreciation and Ending Balance, until the asset is fully depreciated.
Export
Each view exports with Export Excel or Export PDF, using the filters of the view you are on.
Common questions
An asset is missing from the register. Check its start-of-use date: the register lists assets in use on or before the as-of date. Assets are managed in fixed assets.
