Rocket ERP keeps your books in one base currency and lets you deal with suppliers and customers in others. The currency list holds every currency you use. One of them is the default: it is the base currency, it is shown on printed documents and dashboards, and every exchange rate is expressed against it.
Add a currency
Open Administration › Organization › Currencies.
Select Add currency.
Type the Name, for example "Egyptian Pound" or "Saudi Riyal".
Enter the Code: three letters such as EGP, SAR or USD. You may leave it empty, but the exchange-rate import matches currencies by code, so fill it in.
Enter the Symbol shown next to amounts, for example ج.م or ر.س.
Switch on Set as default currency only if this is your base currency.
Select Save.
Change the base currency
Edit the currency that should become the base and switch on Set as default currency. The previous default loses the mark automatically, because there is only ever one default.
Edit or remove a currency
Open the row's actions menu and select Edit to correct the name, code or symbol.
Select Delete and confirm to stop using a currency. It is switched off rather than erased, so documents already issued in it keep their currency.
Exchange rates
Rates between your currencies and the base currency are kept in the accounting area. To load many rates at once, see Import exchange rates from a CSV file.
Common questions
Where does the symbol on my invoices come from? From the default currency. Printed documents show its symbol together with your company letterhead.
The code is refused. It must be exactly three letters, or empty.
A supplier invoices me in dollars. Add the currency here, choose it on the supplier, and keep its exchange rate up to date. The books stay in your base currency.
