Add your own fields to leads, opportunities, contacts and customers
Capture the details your business needs - a project size, a contract number, a preferred branch - as custom fields on CRM forms, with filters on the lists.

Every business tracks something the standard forms do not ask for. Custom fields let an administrator add those questions to the lead, opportunity, contact and customer forms, without any development work. The values are saved with the record and can be used to filter lists and boards.
Before you start
You need the permission to manage custom fields. Plan the fields with the people who will fill them: every required field slows data entry down.
Add a field
Open CRM › Settings & Data › Custom Fields.
Choose the record type at the top: Leads, Opportunities, Contact or Customer.
Select New field.
Type the Label and the Label (Arabic). Users see the label in their own language.
Choose the Field type: Text, Text area, Number, Date, Date & time, Dropdown, Multi-select, Checkbox, Email, URL or Reference.
For Dropdown and Multi-select, add the choices under Options with Add option, each with a Value and a Label.
For Reference, choose what it points to in References: Users, Teams, Customers, Lead sources or Industries.
Set the Order in which the field appears and add Help text if the meaning is not obvious.
Switch on Required if the form must not be saved without it, Filterable to add it to the list filters, and keep Active on.
Select Save.
The field appears at once in the custom-fields section of that record type's form.
Edit or retire a field
Open a field to change its label, order, help text, options or flags.
Switch off Active to stop showing a field while keeping its values.
Delete removes the field definition. Stored values remain on the records but stop showing, so prefer switching it off.
Where custom fields are used
Forms: lead, opportunity, contact and customer forms show the active fields of their type.
Detail pages: the values appear in the custom-fields card.
Lists and boards: fields marked Filterable appear as filters on the leads and opportunities lists and the pipeline boards.
Lead conversion: when a lead is converted with an opportunity, values of lead fields are carried over to opportunity fields with the same key and a compatible type.
Common questions
A custom field doesn't appear on the form. Why? Check that it is Active and defined on the right record type, then reload the form.
Can I move a field from leads to contacts? No. A field belongs to the record type it was created on. Create a new field on the other type.
