An e-mail campaign sends the same message to many people at once, and still greets each one by name. The system fills in each member's details, skips the people who may not receive marketing, and records every e-mail so you can see what was sent and to whom.

Before you start

  • The campaign must use the Email channel, be Active, and today must fall between its start and end dates. See campaigns.

  • Prepare an active e-mail template. Its body is what each member receives.

  • Add the members, and check that they have an e-mail address and marketing consent.

Send the e-mail

  1. Open CRM › Marketing › Campaigns.

  2. In the campaign's Actions menu, select Send email blast.

  3. Choose the Email template.

  4. Type the Subject members will see.

  5. Under Send to, choose who receives it:

    • All members: everyone except members who unsubscribed or bounced.

    • New (pending) members: only members who have not been contacted yet. Use it after you add members to a campaign that has already sent.

    • Engaged members: members already sent, or who opened or clicked an earlier e-mail. Use it for a follow-up.

  6. Select Send email blast.

The system shows Email campaign queued for sending. The e-mails go out in the background over the next moments.

What happens to each member

  • Consent is checked first. A member whose address is on do-not-contact, who opted out, or who has no recorded consent while your company requires opt-in, is skipped and counted. Members without an e-mail address are skipped too.

  • The e-mail is personalised. Variables such as {{recipient_name}}, {{customer_name}}, {{lead_company}}, {{company_name}} or {{current_date}} in the template are replaced with each member's own values. A variable with no value is left empty.

  • It is tracked. Each e-mail appears under CRM › Marketing › Emails as Queued, then Sent once delivered to the mail server, or Failed with the error. When it is sent, a pending member's status becomes Sent.

  • Consent is checked again at send time. If someone opts out in the meantime, or you pause the campaign before the e-mail leaves, it is not sent.

Follow the results

  • Open the campaign's Members to see each member's status move from Pending to Sent.

  • The e-mail history shows when an e-mail was opened. Update the member's status yourself as people react: Opened, Clicked, Responded for those who replied, and Converted for those who bought.

  • Open the e-mail history to read exactly what each person received.

Common questions

Why did fewer people receive the e-mail than the campaign has members? Members were skipped because of consent, a missing e-mail address, or because they unsubscribed or bounced. Check the red badges in the members list.

Can I send the same campaign twice? Yes. Choose New (pending) members to reach only the people added since, or Engaged members for a follow-up, so nobody receives the first message twice.

Does the template's subject apply? No. The blast uses the Subject you type in the panel; the template provides the body.
