The built-in chat lets you message a colleague in your company while you work: ask the storekeeper about a delivery, send the accountant a scanned receipt, or confirm a price with your manager. Messages arrive live, and the history stays with the conversation.
Open your conversations
Select the speech-bubble icon in the header, next to the bell. A red number on it shows your unread messages.
The chat panel lists your conversations, newest first, each with its own unread count.
Select a conversation to open it, or select the button at the bottom of the panel to go to the full chat screen.
The panel is titled Chat, and its bottom button is Open chat.
When you have never chatted, the panel says No conversations yet.
Start a conversation
On the chat screen, select the plus button above the conversation list.
A list of your colleagues opens. Each one shows whether they are connected now.
Select the colleague. The conversation opens, ready for your first message.
The list is headed Start a conversation, and each colleague is marked Online or Offline. You can chat with the active users of your own company only. People in other companies on Rocket ERP never appear.
Send a message
Type in the message box at the bottom of the conversation.
Press Enter, or select the send button. Press Shift and Enter together to start a new line without sending.
The message box shows Write a message... while it is empty, and the send button is Send.
While your colleague types an answer, you see typing... under their name.
Send a file
Select the paper-clip button next to the message box.
Choose the file on your computer. It uploads and appears in the conversation.
The paper-clip button is Attach file. Your colleague opens the file with Download. Only the people in the conversation can download its files.
Read older messages
A conversation opens on its latest messages. Scroll up and select Load older messages to read further back. Opening a conversation marks its messages as read, and the unread count clears.
Common questions
A message does not arrive straight away. The chat needs a live connection. Refresh the page to reconnect. No message is lost: the history reloads with the conversation.
Where do chat messages show in my notifications? They do not. Chat has its own icon and counter, separate from the bell.
