A crew is a group of employees who work together under a foreman, such as a formwork gang or a steel-fixing team. With a crew set up, the site enters the whole group's day in one step instead of one timesheet per person.
Create a crew
Go to Projects > Crews and select New crew.
Enter a code and a name, and the Arabic name.
Choose the Foreman and, if the crew usually works on one job, its Usual project.
Under Members, select Add a member for each employee in the crew.
Save. A crew that is no longer used can be made inactive; its past hours stay as they are.
The members of a crew are entered together with Crew day on the timesheets page. See record the hours worked on projects.
Daily workers
A daily worker is paid for the days worked rather than a monthly salary. To set one up, open the employee in HR and set:
the employment type to Daily;
the Daily rate;
a basic salary of 0, so the worker is not paid twice.
A daily worker's hours are recorded and approved like anyone else's. Each day counts as a full day at the hours per day of your HR settings (8 unless changed), and a shorter day as part of a day.
Pay daily wages
Go to Projects > Labour and Equipment Costing.
In Daily wages to payroll, choose the month and select Check. You see how many workers, how many days and the amount.
Select Send to payroll.
Each worker gets one earning, "Daily wages", in the next payroll run for that month. A day is paid once: running it again only adds days approved since.
Common questions
Are daily workers charged to the projects too? Yes. Their approved hours are charged at their daily rate by the monthly labour costing, like everyone else's.
A worker's hours were approved after I sent the wages. What now? Send the month again. Only the newly approved days are added.
