At month end you need one number: what is the stock worth? Inventory Calculations gives it, and the detail behind it, item by item.
Steps

Optional: choose Branch ID and Warehouse ID to value one location.
Optional: in Unit, choose Default unit or Largest unit.
Select Apply.
The report shows the stock on hand now; it has no date range.
The columns
Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
ID, Item, Category | The item. |
Qty, Unit | The quantity on hand and its unit. |
Qty / Unit | How many base units the selected unit holds. |
Cost | The item's current cost price. |
Virtual Cost | The item's virtual cost price, for the selected unit. |
Retail | The retail sale price. |
Total Value | Cost × quantity. |
Branch, Inventory | Where the stock is held. |
The totals row shows the Total Value of all listed stock. Only items with a positive quantity are listed.
Use it at month end
Run the report for each branch, or for all branches together.
Compare Total Value with the balance of the inventory account in the trial balance. A difference points to stock movements that have not been posted, or to cost changes since the movements were recorded.
Export with Export Excel or Export PDF and file it with your month-end pack.
Common questions
