Set up payment methods and their accounts
Decide which payment methods your team can use on receipts and payments, and link bank transfer, card and wallet methods to the bank or cash account of each branch they post to.

Every receipt and payment voucher asks for a payment method. The method decides which account the money goes into or comes out of, so set the methods up once before your team starts recording vouchers.
How each kind of method posts
Cash posts to a cash box: your own cash box on customer receipts, other receipts and refunds, or the cash box you pick on supplier payments and expenses.
Cheque posts to the bank account you enter with the cheque on the voucher, and adds the cheque to the cheques register.
Every other method, such as bank transfer, card, mobile wallet or a method you add yourself, posts to the account linked to it for the branch that records the voucher. A branch with no linked account cannot use that method: the voucher forms refuse it.
Before you start
The bank and cash accounts you want to link must exist in the chart of accounts as posting accounts of the branch, under the branch's cash and banks group. Only those accounts appear in the lists.
Review the methods
Open Accounting › Payment Methods.
The table lists each Method, its Account and its Status.
For a linked method, the Account column shows each branch with the account it posts to.
Not linked marks a method that cannot post yet.
Link a method to an account
On the method's row, select Edit.
Check Name (English) and Name (Arabic). Voucher forms show the name in the user's language.
Under Account per branch, choose the bank or cash account for each branch that uses this method. Leave a branch empty if it does not use the method.
To clear a branch's link, select Remove the account next to it.
Leave Active on to offer the method on voucher forms.
Select Save.
Add a new method
Select Add.
Enter Name (English) and Name (Arabic).
Link an account for each branch under Account per branch.
Select Save.
A new method always posts to its linked accounts, like bank transfer.
What happens next
Voucher forms list the active methods only. When a user picks a linked method, the form shows Posts to: with the account name and code, so the user sees where the money will land before saving.
If a user picks a method with no account for their branch, the form shows a link to this screen and refuses to post until the method is linked.
Switching a method off removes it from voucher forms. Vouchers already posted with it keep their entries.
Common questions
The account list for a branch is empty. That branch has no bank or cash accounts yet. Add one in the chart of accounts first.
Do I need to link cash or cheque? No. Their account is chosen on each voucher, and the list shows where they post instead of an account.
