When drivers earn a commission per delivery, you record it here invoice by invoice. Each recorded bonus is handed to payroll and paid to the employee linked to that driver, so the amount appears on their next payslip without anyone retyping it.
Before you start
Each in-house driver must be a delivery user with a Linked employee. A bonus for a driver with no linked employee is recorded but cannot reach payroll.
The invoices must have the driver selected as their delivery user.
Record a bonus
Open Administration › Access Control › Delivery Users and select HR bonus at the top of the list.
In Delivery users, choose one or more drivers.
Optionally narrow the period with From and To, then select Apply.
The table lists the eligible invoices: the Delivery user, the Customer, the Date, and the invoice Total, Paid and Net amounts.
On the invoice you want to reward, select Add bonus.
In Record HR bonus, enter the Bonus amount and confirm.
After you confirm, the invoice leaves the list, because each invoice can carry one bonus only. Select Back to return to the delivery users list.
What happens next
Recorded bonuses wait for payroll. The system posts them regularly as a delivery commission earning on the linked employee, and the next payroll run pays them. Bonuses for drivers without a linked employee stay recorded and are skipped until you link an employee to the driver.
Common questions
The list is empty. Either no driver is selected, or every invoice of the selected drivers in that period already has a bonus. Widen the dates or pick another driver.
I recorded the wrong amount. The invoice no longer appears on this screen once a bonus is recorded. Ask your HR officer to correct the earning on the employee before payroll is approved.
Does this post anything to the general ledger? Not by itself. The amount reaches the books through payroll, together with the rest of the employee's pay.
