The item profile answers the questions people ask about a product every day: how much do we have and where, what did we pay for it, who bought it last, and why did the balance change. It is read-only, so anyone with access to items can use it safely.
Open the profile
Open Inventory › Items › Items.
Select the item's row, or open the row menu and select View. The Item profile opens on the Overview tab.
To change the item, select Edit at the top of the page.
The four tabs
Overview
The item's identity, its prices and its Stock summary: Total quantity, Reorder level and a Low stock marker when the item has reached it. If the item has variants, components or commissions, they are listed here too.
Stock
Branches: each branch and warehouse with its quantity, Reserved and Available.
Units: each unit with its conversion quantity, Barcode and Weight (kg).
Price lists: every price list that contains the item and its Sale price there.
History
Purchase history: recent purchase lines with date, supplier, branch, quantity, Unit price and total, followed by the total quantity, the Avg. unit price and the Last purchase date.
Sales history: the same for sales, with the customer and the Last sale date.
Logs
Inventory logs lists every stock movement, newest first. Each row shows the Movement type, the User, the quantity, the cost price at the time, the branch and warehouse and the Reference document.
Narrow the log with All types, All branches, All warehouses, From date and To date. The type filter offers only the movement types this item has actually had.
Find out why a balance changed
Open the Logs tab.
Choose the warehouse and the dates you are asking about.
Read the movements and their Reference. A sale, a purchase, a transfer or a manual adjustment each shows here with the document that caused it.
Common questions
The profile shows less stock than I expected. Check the Reserved column on the Stock tab, and look for a transfer out that has not been received yet.
