The Print barcodes screen turns a list of items into a sheet of labels. Each label carries a scannable barcode and, if you want, the item's name, price, unit and category. Printing never changes stock or prices.
Steps
Open Inventory › Items › Create and Print Barcodes.
In Add items, search for the Item and choose it.
Enter the Quantity: the number of labels for that item.
Select Add. The item joins the table with its Barcode and quantity. Repeat for each item.
In Print options, choose how many labels fit side by side in Labels per page, from one to four per row.
Tick what each label shows, using the four options described below.
Select Generate preview. The screen shows the labels and a summary, for example 24 barcodes across 2 pages.
Select Print and choose your label printer in the browser's print window.
Only the label sheet is printed; the rest of the screen is left out.
What the label shows
The barcode encodes the item's Code from the item form. An item without a code uses its name.
Show name prints the item's name.
Show price prints the item's retail price.
Show unit and Show category print the item's base unit and category.
Tips
Remove a line from the table with its delete button before you generate the preview.
Make a test print on plain paper first, and adjust your printer's paper size and margins to your label stock.
Change the quantity, the options or the items and select Generate preview again; the preview updates each time.
Common questions
Does printing labels change anything in the system? No. The screen only prepares the labels. Nothing is saved.
Why is the price on the label different from the price list? The label prints the item's retail price. Customer price lists can set other prices at the time of sale.
