Fix and resend failed e-invoice submissions
Failed Submissions groups every document the authority refused by its reason, explains how to fix each reason, and lets you resend a whole group once the cause is fixed.

When the tax authority refuses a document, or the system gives up resending it, the document lands in Failed Submissions. The screen groups the documents by error code, because one wrong customer record and an authority that rejects everything look very different once they are grouped: the first is one card with a count of 3, the second is one card with a count in the thousands.
When to use it
The Needs attention or Rejected counter on the Tax Compliance dashboard is above zero.
A document in Fiscal Documents shows Rejected or Failed.
The list contains documents with the status Rejected, Failed and, in test mode, Invalid (test mode). Documents marked Failed (retrying) are not here yet: the system is still resending them automatically.
Steps
Open More › Tax Compliance › Failed Submissions.
Start with the card that has the largest count. Each card shows the error code, how many documents it affects, a suggested fix in plain language, and Oldest with the date of the oldest document in that group.
Fix the cause in the screen the suggestion names. Common reasons:
Reason | Fix |
|---|---|
A business customer has no tax registration number | Add the Tax registration number on the customer record. |
The company tax registration number is not set | Ask your implementation team to complete the company's tax identity. |
A currency has no ISO code | Set EGP or SAR as the currency's Code in Administration › Organization › Currencies. |
One or more taxes are not mapped to an authority tax code | Ask your implementation team to map the tax to the authority's code. |
The Fiscal Hub connection is not configured | Complete Compliance Settings and select Test connection. |
The Fiscal Hub could not be reached | No action is needed; the system retries automatically. |
Select a document row to open Document detail and check the authority's message and the filed document, if you need more detail.
When the cause is fixed, select Retry this page on the card. The system resends the documents of that group shown on the current page, and a message tells you how many documents were re-queued.
Open the next page and repeat, or move to the next card.
What happens next
Resent documents leave this screen and return to Pending or Submitted in Fiscal Documents. If the cause was fixed, they move to Accepted or Cleared. If not, they come back here with the same error.
When nothing has failed, the screen shows Nothing has failed.
Common questions
Who can resend documents? Users whose group has the permission to resend fiscal documents. Others can view the list but do not see Retry this page. Opening a document's details also needs access to the Fiscal Documents register.
An error code has no suggested fix. It is a code returned by the authority itself. Open the document's details to read the authority's message, and contact your implementation team if the cause is not clear.
Can I delete a failed invoice instead? In ZATCA, a rejected document was still signed and counted, and a simplified invoice may already be in the customer's hands. Correct the sale with a customer return rather than deleting it.
