A customer who collects goods from your warehouse expects to wait a few minutes for a small order and longer for a large one. These settings let you write down that service level per warehouse: for each size of order, the maximum time loading should take.
An order's size is described two ways: how many different items it contains, and the total quantity. Each combination of ranges is a tier, and each tier carries its own maximum load time.
Create a delivery setting
Open Administration › Configuration › Inventory Delivery Settings.
Select New setting.
Choose the Branch and the Warehouse the setting applies to.
Under Load tiers, fill in the first tier:
Items from and Items to: the range of different items in the order.
Qty from and Qty to: the range of total quantity.
Max load time (minutes): the longest acceptable loading time for an order in this tier.
Select Add tier for each further size band, then select Save.
An example
Items from | Items to | Qty from | Qty to | Max load time (minutes) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | 5 | 1 | 50 | 10 |
6 | 20 | 51 | 300 | 25 |
21 | 100 | 301 | 2000 | 60 |
With these tiers, the storekeeper knows that an order of three items and 40 units should be ready within ten minutes.
Edit or delete a setting
Open the row's actions menu and select Edit to change the warehouse or the tiers.
Select Delete and confirm to remove the setting together with all its tiers. The deletion is permanent.
Common questions
Do I need a setting for every warehouse? Only for the warehouses that serve customers or drivers directly, where waiting time matters.
Where do I see actual loading times? Open Reports & Analytics › Purchasing Reports › Inventory Load Time. It lists stock withdrawal requests with their expected and actual loading times.
