The field sales screen is built for a rep on the road with a phone. It lists the leads, customers and deals you are responsible for, puts what needs attention today at the top, and records each visit with your location so the office knows where you have been. It works in the phone's browser; the same work can also be done in the field sales mobile app.

Open your route

  1. Open CRM › Sales › Field Sales on your phone or tablet.

The field sales feed with the due-today and overdue counters and a card per record

The header shows how many follow-ups are overdue and due today. Cards are ordered so overdue follow-ups come first, then today's, then later ones, then records with no follow-up. Each card shows Follow-up overdue, Follow-up due today or the follow-up date, the phone number and a Check-in button. Select Refresh to reload after the office assigns you new records.

Tap a card to see its Details and Recent activity, and select Call to dial the number directly.

Check in at a visit

  1. On the card, select Check-in.

  2. Allow the browser to use your location the first time. The panel shows your position and its Accuracy. If the location is blocked, select Enable location, or follow the instructions on screen and select Retry.

  3. For a lead, pick the new status under Update status if the visit moved it on.

  4. Under Notes, write what happened, or select Dictate and speak.

  5. Set the Next follow-up date if you agreed to come back. It cannot be in the past.

  6. Select Save check-in.

The visit is recorded as a completed Field Visit task with the GPS position, linked to the record. For a lead, the status changes, and the next follow-up becomes a planned task. For a customer, a follow-up date also creates a planned task. If the lead had no location yet, the visit's position is saved on it.

Add a lead from the field

  1. Select Quick add lead (the + button).

  2. Type the Name and the Phone; both are required. Add the Expected amount if you know it.

  3. Select Add lead.

The lead is assigned to you, saved with your current location and the field-visit source, and appears on your route. Complete its details later from the leads list.

What the office sees

Every check-in feeds field sales tracking: visits per day and per rep, and a map of where they took place. Managers can assign leads to reps in bulk from the leads list, and they appear on the rep's route.

Common questions

My route is empty. Why? Only records assigned to you appear. Ask your manager to assign leads or customers to you.

Can I check in without GPS? No. Every visit is stored with its location. Turn on location services and allow the browser to use them.
