Define work sites for location-checked clock-in
Draw each workplace on the map with a radius, assign employees, and add an on-site code, tag or beacon so phone punches are accepted only from where people actually work.

A work site is a place employees clock in from: an office, a branch, a warehouse or a project site. It has a position on the map and a radius. When location checking is on, a phone punch is measured against the employee's work site, so people can only clock in when they are actually there.
Before you start
Location checking is controlled in HR Settings by Enforce GPS geofence on clock-in. Until it is on, the screen shows These fences are not being enforced and punches are accepted from anywhere. Define your sites first, then turn it on (see HR settings).
Create a work site
Open People › Time & Attendance › Work Sites and select New work site.
Enter the Site name, and optionally the Site name (Arabic), and choose the Branch.
Set the position: click the map or drag the pin, or type the Latitude and Longitude. Enter both or neither.
Set the Radius (metres), between 20 and 10,000. The default is 100. The circle on the map shows the area a punch has to fall inside.
Under Proof of presence, choose whether the site also asks for something only available on site: a rotating QR code shown at the entrance, an NFC tag or a Bluetooth beacon. Enter the secret it needs; it is stored encrypted and never shown again.
Under Assigned employees, select the people who work here.
Save the site.
A site with no position cannot be checked. While location checking is on, every punch measured against such a site is refused, so set the position before you assign anyone.
Which site a punch is measured against
The system looks for the employee's fence in this order:
the nearest site the employee is assigned to;
any site of the employee's branch;
the fallback office location in HR Settings.
An employee with no site at all cannot clock in while location checking is on. HR Settings shows how many active employees have no work location, so you can close the gaps before you switch it on.
What happens outside the fence
HR Settings decides, under When someone punches outside their work site:
Reject the punch: the employee is refused and told how far away they are. Nothing is recorded.
Accept it and flag for HR review: the punch is recorded with the distance and sent to punch review.
Show the site code at the entrance
For a site that uses a rotating QR code:
Open the site with View site.
Under Entrance display, select Create a display link, then Open display on the screen at the entrance. The code changes every 30 seconds, so a photo of it is useless within a minute.
Select Show site code to show the code on your own screen.
Treat the display link like a password. If a screen is replaced or the address is seen off site, select Regenerate: the old link stops working at once. Revoke removes the link.
Common questions
Can I delete a site? Yes. If attendance has already been judged against it, the system deactivates it instead, so the evidence on past punches stays readable.
Does proof of presence block a punch? A missing or wrong code raises the punch's risk score. Punches that look wrong go to punch review for a person to decide.
