When you add a new item, or the price of one item changes, it is quicker to set its price on all your price lists from one screen than to open each list. Item price across lists shows every price list with this item's price on it.

Before you start

  • You need the price-list management permission.

  • The item exists under Inventory › Items › Items.

Steps

  1. Open Sales › Pricing › Update Item Price.

  2. Under Item prices, choose the Item.

  3. The table lists every Price list with the item's Sale price on it. A list where the item is not priced yet shows an empty box.

  4. Enter or change the prices you need. Leave a box empty to keep that list without a price for the item.

  5. Select Save prices. The message Item prices saved appears.

What happens next

  • Lists where you entered a price now hold that price for the item. If the item was not on a list, it is added.

  • New sales documents that use those lists pick up the new price at once. Saved documents keep their prices.

  • Clearing a box does not remove the item from that list. To remove it, use Delete on the price list's items screen. See Create a price list and set item prices.

Common questions

Why does an item sell at a different price from the one I set here? The customer may have a discount or a fixed price on that price list. See How prices and discounts are set.

Do I need to be assigned to every list to use this screen? No. This screen lists all of your company's active price lists. Selling from a list still requires the assignment.
