A price list holds a sale price per item. You choose a price list on every sales invoice, quotation and POS sale, and its prices fill the lines. Use several lists when different customers or channels pay different prices.
Before you start
To create, rename or delete price lists and change their prices, you need the price-list management permission. Users with view access only can open the lists but not change them.
Create a price list
Open Sales › Pricing › Price Lists and select Add price list.
Enter the Name and, if useful, Notes.
Select Save. The list appears with Items showing 0.
Add items and prices
Click the price list, or select Manage items in its Actions menu. The Price list items screen opens.
Select Add item.
In Item ID, search for the item and pick it. Its Item name fills in.
Enter the Sale price and select Save.
Each item appears once per list. To change a price, select Edit price in the item's Actions menu. To take an item off the list, select Delete, then confirm Remove "{name}" from this price list?.
Change many prices at once
Adding items one by one suits small lists. For larger changes:
Sync & reprice on the price list items screen adds all missing items and reprices the list by a percentage, an amount or a fixed price. See Reprice a whole price list.
Sales › Pricing › Bulk Price Update loads prices from an Excel file. See Update price list prices from Excel.
Sales › Pricing › Update Item Price sets one item's price on every list at once. See Set one item's price on every price list.
Rename or delete a price list
In the list's Actions menu, select Edit to change the name or notes, or Delete, then Confirm. A deleted list is no longer offered on new documents. Invoices already saved with it are not affected.
Common questions
What price is used for an item that is not on the list? The item's own sale price.
Can one customer get a better price than the list? Yes. Set a discount or a fixed price for that customer on the price list. See How prices and discounts are set.
