Dashboards

When a dashboard shows no figures or different figures

What the unavailable and no-data messages mean, why a dashboard figure can differ from a report, and what to do when a dashboard is missing from your menu.

Dashboards are built from many separate calculations. When one of them fails, or when a figure seems not to match a report, the message on the screen and a few rules about dates usually explain why.

What to do

This section is unavailable. or This section is temporarily unavailable.

One block could not be calculated. Every other block on the page shows real figures.

Reload the page. If the same block stays unavailable for hours, tell your administrator which one.

A whole-page message such as Couldn't load the sales dashboard.

The page could not fetch any figures.

Check your connection, reload the page, or sign out and sign in again.

No data for this period yet. or No data available

The calculation worked, but nothing happened in the period.

Widen the date range, choose All branches, or wait for the first documents.

No dashboards available.

Your group grants no dashboard.

Ask your administrator for access.

Why a figure differs from a report

Most differences come from how the dashboard counts, not from wrong data. Check these points before you report a problem:

  • Period or balance. On the executive dashboard, revenue, gross profit and the invoice count add up the period, while receivables, payables and cash are balances on the last day. Compare a balance with a report run for the same day.

  • Calendar periods. The sales, purchasing and accounting dashboards always use today, this month so far and this year so far. A report run for a custom range will differ.

  • Returns. The sales dashboard shows revenue net of customer returns.

  • The branch filter. On the accounting dashboard, the branch narrows the sales-based figures only; receivables, payables and expenses stay company-wide. On the alarms dashboard, CRM and financial alerts are company-wide too.

  • The comparison. On the executive dashboard, the change percentages follow the comparison you chose: the previous period, the previous year or none. The line above the tiles states the exact dates.

  • Timing. Most dashboards recalculate about once a minute, so a document saved seconds ago can take up to a minute to appear.

  • Rounding. Tiles show short amounts, such as 1.2M. Tables and reports show the full figure.

A dashboard is missing from your menu

Each dashboard is granted to groups separately: executive, sales, purchasing, accounting, CFO, alarms and the others. If one is missing from your Home menu or from the tabs of the Overview page:

  1. Ask your administrator to grant it to your group in Groups and permissions.

  2. Sign out and sign in again, so your menu reloads.

A dashboard can also be missing because its module, such as manufacturing or HR, is not part of your company's subscription.

Report a problem

If a block stays unavailable or a figure is still wrong after these checks, send your administrator:

  • the dashboard's name and the block's title;

  • the branch, dates and comparison you selected;

  • the report and dates you compared it with.
