A sales manager uses the field sales app to see what the team is doing today, and the web system to set up what the team works on. This page covers both.
Follow visits on the phone
Open Tracking in the app. If you may view all records, choose a rep with Choose a rep, or Me for yourself; otherwise you see only your own visits.
Pick the window: Last 7 days, Last 30 days or Last 90 days.
Read the totals: Visits, Today, Active reps, Accounts seen and the Location coverage - how many visits were recorded With GPS and Without GPS.
Look at Visits by day for the team's rhythm, Visits by rep for who has been out and when each was Last out, and Where for a map of the visit locations. When there are many, the map shows the newest locations.
Follow results on the phone
Open Scorecard. Choose a rep or Me. The scorecard shows for the current month:
Revenue won against the target, with the Attainment, or No target set for this month;
Deals won and their Gross value;
the Open pipeline and its weighted value;
Leads and Activities this month.
Set up the team's work on the web
What | Where on the web |
|---|---|
Give reps their leads | CRM › Sales › Leads: tick the leads and use Assign to user. They appear on the rep's route. See leads. |
Give reps their customers | Set the Responsible (sales rep) on each customer. |
Set monthly targets | The Targets tab of the projects reports, per person and metric. The app's scorecard reads them. See projects reports. |
Plan a call campaign | CRM › Marketing › Campaigns: Generate call tasks gives each member's owner a planned call, which shows in the rep's Activity list. See campaigns. |
Price requests | Pre-sales can work from the web queue or the app. See quote requests. |
Review visits in depth | CRM › Reports & Analytics › Field Sales Tracking, with filters, the notes and an export. See field sales tracking. |
Compare with the web scorecard | CRM › Sales › Sales Rep Dashboard. See sales scorecard. |
Permissions the app depends on
The app shows only the CRM screens a user's permission group allows:
the field sales route and visit check-in for reps;
leads, opportunities, activities, contacts, customers and tickets as needed;
the quote requests view, and the permission to manage them for pre-sales;
the permission to view all records for managers, which unlocks other reps in Tracking and Scorecard.
A rep whose group has none of these sees "Your account has no screens this app can open yet."
Roll-out checklist
Check that every rep's user has the right permission group.
Assign each rep their leads and customers.
Set the month's targets.
Give the reps the company code and the download link, and ask them to allow location.
After the first day, open tracking and check that visits arrive With GPS.
Common questions
A rep's visits are missing from tracking. Visits recorded with no signal are sent when the phone reconnects. Ask the rep to open the app once they are back in coverage.
Can I see where a rep is right now? No. The app records a location only when a visit is checked in; it does not track reps between visits.
